Cllr Diane Williams has ceased to be a town councillor with effect from 27th Aug’18 for reason of non-attendance.
The Local Government Act 1972 Section 85 provides that a councillor ceases to be a member of the council if she/he fails throughout a period of six consecutive months of the date of last attendance to attend any meeting of the council unless absence is due to some reason specifically expressed and approved by council by resolution before that period has elapsed.
Ceasing to be a councillor for continuous absence of 6 months is automatic takes effect immediately.
