In recognition of his outstanding service and dedication to the community of Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn, retired PCSO Graham Jennings has been awarded the prestigious title of ‘Honorary Freeman’ by the Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council.

During a special meeting, Town Councillors proposed and unanimously approved the decision to award Mr. Jennings the ‘Honorary Freeman’ title. The proposal was made by The Mayor, Cllr John Byrne, and seconded by Cllr Richard White. This title is the highest honour that Newtown can bestow upon an individual.

“I first met Graham 20 years ago when I first moved to Newtown. I can only say what a true gent Graham is, and his dedication to the profession he recently retired from only demonstrates how well respected he is by all in the community. It’s clear that Graham was and continues to be an excellent representative on behalf of the town and its citizens,” shared Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Mayor, Cllr John Byrne.

Mr. Jennings now joins a select group of individuals who have been granted the ‘Honorary Freeman’ title by Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council, including Rory Evans and David Pugh.

This honour recognises not only Mr. Jennings’ extraordinary career but also his lasting impact on the Newtown community. Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council is proud to celebrate his commitment and service.
