Short Stroll 8 Leisure Centre & Maesyrhandir Paths to Nidec Loop

This walk starts at the Maldwyn Leisure Centre in Plantation Lane.  With your back to the main entrance of the Centre take the path to your right and cross the car park with the sports fields on your right.  At the end of the car park follow the paved path to your right and cross the road at the crossing.  Go straight ahead with the houses on your right. At the open space, cross diagonally and continue along the paved path between houses. 

At the red brick wall and Pete’s Shop, Premier, cross the grassed mound and follow the path.  At the next junction turn right and immediately left, cross the small car park then turn right and immediately left.  At the road, Lon Maesycoed, turn left uphill then take the first path left next to a large Sycamore/Maple tree.  Follow the path around (or up and over) a large grassed mound, ignore the next left path and turn right, signed Mochdre Industrial Estate, Cycle Path 81.  Go through the gap next to a beautiful, ancient oak tree to continue on the path. At the metal fence ahead (which encircles the large Nidec factory) turn left between the 2 metal fences with Nidec on your right and playing fields on your left.  At the fenced, colourful school playground take the small gravel path to the left toward the road.  Bear right through the parking area to come out on Plantation Lane again.  Cross the road and follow the paved path to return to the Leisure Centre.
